Tseycum First Nation Land Code
First Nation Land Governance Successes
Welcome to the Tseycum First Nation Land Code information website.
Please check back regularly as our site is being updated with new and important information on how we can regain governance over our lands, natural resources and environment.
As part of Tseycum's ongoing efforts to protect our lands and resources, we have developed a draft Land Code under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management.

A vote to pass our Land Code will enable Tseycum to regain control of our reserve lands and resources, free of government interference in the day-to-day decisions on our lands. The Tseycum First Nation Land Code will become our fundamental land law, and if passed by our membership on July 31, 2025, it will replace the land management sections of the Indian Act as they relate to Tseycum First Nation reserve lands.

In short, by passing our Land Code, we exercise our inherent rights and regain the legal jurisdiction to govern our lands and resources. In fact, under our Land Code, 44 land management sections of the Indian Act will cease to apply to our lands! Canada will no longer be involved in decisions about our reserve lands, natural resources, or environment.
